Featured Replies

was behind a volvo s80 2.4 this morning in my furby, went round an island in warrington which opens out into a long duel carageway, he booted it to a stupid speed but couldnt shake me. i was stuck to his bumper like glue. what kinda performance figures have these got? are they any good ?

was it a 2.4D?

dont think so? it just said 2.4 on the back?

2.4 is pretty poor i am sorry to say - circa 170 hp [or 140bhp] probably an auto, weighs in excess of 1500 kg's. I assume they get quicker once rolling though.

lol very funny. my girlfriend always picks me up on that!! always called them islands for some reason.

The 170bhp 2.4 (5-cylinder if I remember correctly) is fairly quick (manual). It's a 9 second car from 0-62.. I remember reading somewhere that the 140bhp version is just limited by software and can get the same power with a chip.. I've raced a couple with my previous cars and if booted they move fairly quickly, most of the drivers seem to have real attitude problems.. It took some work to shake one with my peugeot 406 2.0 turbo when it was standard (150bhp/250nm), with upped boost I could beat even the turbo models (2.4T and 2.5T, not T5 though) :)
