Ive been offered a 02 civic type r in swap for my 51 Octavia vrs.. looks nice seems all sweet.. Done a hpi on it and its come back saying

 

''This vehicle may be recorded as a write off, however as it has undergone a plate transfer please call us''

 

What does this mean? is it a write off or isn't it?
 

Also comes up with having 14 previous owners.. what are you opinions on that..?

Do the HPI check with proper HPI and not a third party.

Loads of cars have plate changes, both my current Audi and previous had plate changes. A full HPI check will also check all the plates the car has been on in the past.

Well my hpi said it was last registered 7th jan so hes had it almost 2 months.. apparently he cant afford the insurance on it..

I would walk away,keep the Octavia,seeing a few civic type r,s and Hondas in General with stretched timing chains coming into the work.14 owners would have me running for the hills.

Well I told him to put cash my way but he cant afford it I said f he was to sell it I would have it off him as a breaker..

Run away as fast as you can.
