Pancake pipe

Featured Replies

Simple but easy question, "funny that I dont know the answer though".

Is it normal to hear hissing when spooling up from the pancake pipe area, or is this due to a boost leak.

Cheers.

Sounds very boost leak to me mate... if you get under the car, follow the metal boost hose from the top of turbo down to where it joins the black rubber boost hose. There is a stupid connection between the 2... this is my suspect.!!

First place I would look

Cheers I will try that, Thank you.

I bought a 5 piece hose kit from CM the other week, Will the piecies in this kit cover the "maby" suspect house?

Thanx

no that 5 piece kit does not cover that hose buddy.

As answered in your other thread.

you will have to get that from dealer as there is not a replacement silicon hose for it

The newer ones fit better and are more secure

and are stupid expensive

Think that goes to the top of the intercooler mate, I have a similar hissing noise coming from the osf wheel arch area, but I'm fitting a wellycooler so hopefully it will be the end of it!

Sounds like the one that joins the pancake to intercooler, the rubbery standard ones are prone to coming off.

I bought the Forge 5 pipe kit and that particular one is about 2-3 inches long, make sure enough of your version is engaged on each pipe when tightening the hose clips.

Not worth messing about fitting that as you need to remove bumper to get to the intercooler. Those never leak so not worth the hassle replacing.
