My Octavia has a removable tow bar with a key... How does it come off??

I have a Witter towbar fitted so I give you its instructions although other will be similar.

 

You should have a key - unlock it

 

Push the knob in and turn

 

The locking pin should release and simply drop out.

 

To refit push in the knob and turn - little pin pops out

 

Push it into the holder and then pull forward  

this causes the pin to be pushed in and applies the locking pin.

 

Use the key to lock so it can be accidentally released or Stolen.

If it's a Skoda factory fitted towbar then you turn the key, then push the lever away from you about 45 degrees (it takes a bit of effort) and the towbar will then just slide out downwards. To refit do the reverse procedure.
