Sitting a tesco's car park the car suddenly went really lumpy on tick over in fact if you change gear before 3000 revs it coughs and sputters as if you are in the wrong gear, I was thinking of putting some fuel additives in to clean the injectors.

 

I would appreciate any comments on the additives or what could be wrong with the car.

Get it scanned for faults, there's a list of VCDS owners in the forum somewhere, someone local should do it for beer tokens or as much as £20.

first thing to do would be change the fuel filter it might be blocked. as far as fuel addatives go i have always used mineral atf fluid (remove the feed&return from the fuel pump and connect two  pipes in there place and the other ends in the atf bottle start the car and run for 20mins or until the atf has nearly run out).
