Vrs interior driver door light and boot light hanging on wire, need tips

Featured Replies

I recently purchased a skoda fabia vrs which has come with a few cosmetic issues. These include, the interior door light on the drivers door (glows red when open) won't clip back into its slot and hangs on the wire which makes it look limp... I also have the same issue with the light which comes on in the boot (sits just above the wheel arch). I really don't want to use super glue incase I need to access them in the future to change a bulb for example, but I would like them to be held tight in place. Any ideas? Thanks

If you really must glue them, clear silicone works pretty well.

Thanks for replying so quickly, I'll get a picture uploaded later today. I've got the plastic cover for the lights, it's the seal inside the boot and inside the door isn't grabbing the plastic light cover so the hang out.

Hey,

Not sure I understand what you mean. If the lights won't stay in their holes it's usually because one of the plastic lugs has broken off the light  - especially in the case of the red door light. The carpet in the boot where the boot light fits has a thin metal clip thing attached to the back of the carpet which the light grips onto. The metal clip thing might be missing.

I'll take a look at your pics anyway.

Yea you was right, the plastic clip on the door inside has snapped so ill order a new one, and the boot one has finally clipped into place. Thanks

It's a plastic lug on the light that snaps off, not a plastic clip on the door. There isn't anything on the door except a hole.

Yea sorry I meant that but wrote different :(

I found a compartment under the steering wheel. It says in the hand book it's lockable... I opened it and now I can't close it again, I've pushed and pushed and it won't close completely. Any ideas on why this happens or how to lock or unlock it? I've tried closing it when the car engine is on and off and with the doors locked and unlocked but it seems to make no difference. Here are some pictures to show you what I mean. It did used to sit flush before I opened it though, only had the car 2 days... sigh.

No probs :)

Your compartment cover has simply come off the hinge clips. It's designed to be removable and the main diagnostic socket is behind it. You just need to get it back on the hinge clips and it'll be fine. It's not lockable, it just clicks shut.
