is this the start of the offers as the run up to the 3rd gen fabia starts?

The ŠKODA Fabia Hatch SE has so many clever features, we didn't want you to miss the most important one. The price. Because for a limited time only, you can drive one away for just £8,995 OTR*. Or only £9,995 OTR^ for the estate.

Both models come with 15" Rotare alloy wheels, electric door mirrors, manual air-con and metallic paint, it's what you'd expect from the winner of 'Best Manufacturer' as named by AutoExpress, Which? and What Car?

This great offer only lasts until 31 March 2014. So book a test drive at your local retailer, at skoda.co.uk or by calling 08457 745 745. And be quick, we wouldn't want you to miss it.

*Offer only applicable to the ŠKODA Fabia Hatch SE 1.2 12V 69PS and ^ŠKODA Fabia Estate SE 1.2 TSI 12V 86PS in Brilliant Silver metallic, Denim Blue metallic, Black Magic Pearlescent and Candy White paint with a temporary spare steel wheel, while stocks last. Prices and specifications are accurate at time of print. Optional specification cannot be added on this offer. Offer available on new retail orders placed by the 31st March 2014. This offer cannot be taken in conjunction with any other offer. Subject to availability.   Official fuel consumption in mpg (litres/100km) for the Fabia Hatch SE 1.2 12V 69PS: Urban 38.7 (7.3), Extra Urban 62.8 (4.5), Combined 51.4 (5.5). CO2 emissions for the Fabia Hatch SE 1.2 12V 69PS 128g/km.   Standard EU Test figures for comparative purposes and may not reflect real driving results.

Yes - this is the deal I went for - it's been running for over a month now.

With the metallic paint and full size spare, added to the already decent spec, it's more than £12K list, so over £3K off. Quite a lot of car for the money these days, though I am biased!

Doesn't feel as slow as the 0-60 figure suggests, and I'm already getting over 50mpg average after just 1500 miles.

Misses out on the cheapest VEL bands, but offset that against the purchase price (compared to list prices for the diesels for example), that's a small price to pay.

It's obviously a run-out model with the new model just around the corner, but if you can get over the fact that it wont be the current shape for long, then snap one up, I'd say!

Estate sounds even better £9995 and its the 86bhp 1.2 TSi

Yes, if you need the extra space - it's cracking value; quicker to 60 and slightly better mpg too. Still the same VEL band though.

When I reserved and collected mine, the dealers were making a big fuss about how limited the stock of these two versions was, but as I say, the offer has been running for over a month, and strangely they haven't run out of them! In fact, they've gone and doubled the colour options from two to four!

That's a little confusing... In the main ad they specify the estate comes with the TSI 86, but in the official figures they only give numbers for the 1.2 12V in estate?

Edit: argh, I'm not reading correctly. It does make sense.

You're a bit slow.....the offer's been running since the beginning of October last year! There are at least 2 other threads on the subject, and yes, it's a runout special. Fabia mk2 finishes production around July. Fabia mk3 is tooled up over the summer break to start up August.

Sorry but been running for over a year, bought one for the wife last January 2013. Better choice of colours now and Esp.

Do Skoda have any history of releasing high spec run out models?

My SE+ estate is coming up to 3 yrs old and I could be tempted by a TSi 105 with all the toys, specifically MDI, rear e/w, sunset glass, and climate control (basically what was standard on the SE+), just to get another 3 yrs peace of mind.

It is, we bought one last year. :)

Metallic paint and spare wheel, we only added the 5 year/100k warranty.

I think traditionally you don't get the run out high spec bargains particularly (exception was Octavia VRS Blackline) as they rely more on keen pricing and 0% finance.

Brimma.  Please change your avatar, as I can't read any of the words.

Thanks you please ;-p

Bought the estate in October last year. Seems they are releasing them in batches as the offers keep disappearing and reappearing.

Great car for the money.

I have just bought one in Silver. Bar a couple of interior quibbles it is a good drive. Shame they couldn't have offered the hatch with the 85hp engine for a little bit less than the estate, although the 12V is more than adequate for my needs.

Has anyone bought the 69ps? Am I right in thinking its only 69 bhp??

Iv got the 69ps. And yes ps is nearly the same as BHP

Its surprisingly good though. Dont have to rev it as much as youd expect. Max torque is at 3000rpm

I p/xd a 75bhp Twingo for mine. Yes its slower from 0-60 but "in gear" performance e.g. 50-70 in 4th is noticeably better in the Fabia. And the engine note is much better as well.

That 69ps engine is superb. It goes very very well and makes a nice noise! Have no quarms about buying one.

Cheers!

Actually prefer this engine to the newer 1.0 3 cylinder in the UpMiiGo. The 1.2 seems a little more refined in sound and power delivery to me; perhaps because the 1.0 does without a balancer shaft.

What kind of mileage are you doing a week to achieve that figure if you don't mind me asking, I own the Reaction with the same engine in and can't get it over 43mpg! I'm currently doing about 160 miles a week on that, now my driving style may not be suited to driving frugally or I may not be driving enough miles to get a better mpg. So just curious as it's been consistently around the 43mpg mark from purchase and I've done about 5000 miles now.

I've seen deals of £8995 for both the 1.2tsi SE Hatch and the 1.2HTP Reaction.

Better deal would be the 1.2tsi SE Roomster for £9995.(or £9990)..it will hold value better, more car for your money, and I think you get the panaramic sunroof.

I just dislike the back end on roomsters rather alot though haha. They look even more sensible than a fabia, and you wouldnt of thought thats possible ;).

I disliked them but from certain angles they look ok in the right wheels

I see this offer is back on again but they have bumped the price up to £9595. Strangely enough I have seen quite a few new base spec S models on the road round my way that have a higher list price of £9945. Either the buyers are getting a large discount on these or the dealers are keeping quiet about this offer.....
