What is this part on my car?

Featured Replies

Can anyone identify what this part is on my Octavia VRS Mk 1  ?

I've taken the photo from underneath the car, it's located at the bottom of the engine bay just behind the radiator fans.

One of the mounts is broken...

I think its your second air intake pump? could be wrong!

Pretty sure that's the Secondary Air intake pump (sai)

It certainly is the SAI. It can be removed if you want.

Yep the secondary air pump.

I have a good one if any one is interested.

Thanks for the info.

It's just the one bolt that seems to have broken.  Anyone know if that is supposed to be a bolt head, or a nut that sits above the mounting?

Or would I have to replace the whole thing?

I think the bit that is broke is not threaded but  just a complete rubber mount that the other end has a threaded section that goes through the bracket to the other side where a nut is applied.

All the mounts on mine have broken and its held in place by its pipework
