Swapping my battery out for uprated Bosch

Featured Replies

I have had my shiny new Bosch sitting in the hall for a couple of weeks now, sort of putting it off. I have a RING memory minder so I can apply some current to the cigar socket whilst I change the battery. Is it just a case of unbolting the terminals and swapping the batteries over? Is there anything else I need to undo or fiddle with?

Thanks.

No..Just undo and refit the new one

As above, when I impulse bought my VRS 2 years ago I'd not long bought a Bosch S5 for my old Vectra GSi and just swapped them over.

After changing mine 2 weeks ago it resulted in the ABS, traction control, airbag, and tyre pressure light on.

Yes, big panic at first, but as above just drive it down the road and after 200 yards it should all disappear, along with that warm panic feeling!

Well managed to change mine, TBH it was a big of a nightmare as it has a jacket which goes round the battery and it covers up the steel locking catch at the base. I managed to re assemble the plastic box, however even though I used my memory saver, I still got a dash full of amber lights. These went out after driving forward a couple of meters.

I put the old battery on charge, it showed 12.2v which seems a bit low for a battery in daily use inc today. Thanks for all the info.

Glad you're sorted now.. Well done

Yup, after taking out the entire carpeting to dry it out, and reading best to disconnect the battery cos of the airbags, I **** meself when I turned it over to be greeted by a rainbow on the dash! :giggle:
