Soon to be back in an Octavia :-D

Featured Replies

Greetings,

After just over a year of running a Fabia VRS, it's finally hit home that selling my old Octavia VRS to my Dad was a silly thing to do. Being as he's refusing to give it back, I've been on the hunt for another one. I went and looked at one last week that wasn't as good as it looked in the photos and getting cut up by it pulling out of a junction and then watching it tear away literally before I arrived to view it didn't give a good first impression.

Anyway, I've kept my eye out and came across a nice looking red one on ebay that was only 1/2hr up the road from home. It's an 04 plate with 106000 miles, (cambelt and water pump recently done), full leather trim, gunmetal alloys, cat back, induction kit, Forge 007p and a remap. Advertised at a very reasonable £2295 I thought it was definately worth a look.

Once I saw it in the flesh I found it to be very tidy and appears to have been very well looked after. It drives faultlessly, nice and smooth, pulls strongly and everything feels nice and tight. No knocks, rattles or anything. So considering fairly short MOT and tax a deal was done at £2100 and I couldn't be happier :D

Picking it up on Thursday and I can't wait. Going to be so nice to get back into a proper sized car again, missed my old one so much.

Does anyone recognise it? Going by the bits that are on it, it's points to possible Briskodian ownership at some point in it's life.

Love the interior, nice buy.

Lots of people returning to vrs ownership.

Saw this on ebay a few weeks back. I was impressed by the interior but i couldnt decide if it was really dirty or supposed to be dark lol.

Nice buy tho :)

Looks good. Right colour too. :)

The interior is lovely. They're actually the original seats that have been retrimmed along with the door cards. It has even had a black carpet put in too which was one of the first things I was planning to do.

good choice :) it's good having people that look after their car and such, none of this neglecting nonsense. Really good nic as well :) nice one! :)

Well, today was the day for pick up and it's now sat on my drive :D

It's so nice to be back driving an Octavia again, so much better than the Fabia. Just feels like a proper car.

Discovered a couple of things I need to sort out. Firstly, it appears the thermostat is sticking. Easy fix. The micro switch on the drivers door is a little bit temperamental and the rear screen washer isn't working. Apart from those little items, it's all good. Certainly goes well. According to the paperwork, it's running a jabbasport map and the dyno printout is suggesting 230bhp. A tad optimistic, I reckon 200-210 at a push as the only other mods are a cat back, induction kit and a forge 007p.

Overall very pleased.

I've also found it used to have a private plate A13 HUK on it. Ring any bells with anyone?

Don't know the car, but anyway, nice buy - you must be very happy.

I like the red, and the interior is a bonus isn't it?!

I couldn't imagine NOT having an Octy Vrs outside my house - why did you sell your original one to your Dad? And more to the point - why didn't he want to sell it back to you? Loves it too much I guess?!!! :D

screenwash is likely a popped hose like the fabia suffers - probably wazzing out by front N/S wheel where its popped off connection in to bulkhead? :)

Sold the last one as I bought a Fabia on a bit of an impulse and ended up keeping it. You got it in one, he loves it too much :D

I would have thought it'd be something simple. I'll have a proper look next week when I get time.

if not there, it will be behind the boot liner on Passenger side, where the cd changer would be... another favourite spot to pop

Hope your enjoying the new motor.

Better be ready for Weston.
