Featured Replies

Hi i have recently bought an octavia silverline with the 1.9tdi Alh engine could anyone tell me where the engine number is stamped on the block ive found the number on the timing cover label but want to make sure it is the original low mileage engie any advie much appreciated.

These engines rarely need replaced, some have over 500,000 miles on them. Im sure itll be original particularly if low miles

Thanks for reply the reason i wang to fund out is ive noticed a metallic tappung noise which i didnt notice when i bought the car which does not really fit in with an engine which has only done 45000 miles

number is usually on the rocker cover opposite side from the filler cap, near the crank breather

Exhaust mount or alternator pulley/aux belt tensioner could be the source of the noise.

Or a manifold crack perhaps?
