Clutch judder mostly in first gear

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, When I release my clutch to the very top, I get an unsettling judder vibration from the engine. seems to be most noticeable engaging 1st gear. It's not happy and iot never used to do it? Any ideas? is it just a gone clutch or Dual Mass Flywheel? cheers. (Car Fabia I 1.9 TDI estate.)

(When it's fully in gear the judder is gone)

Thanks Hockeylad72, a reply is better than none at all. the car has only done 60k!

Can I ask the cost? ballpark?

I changed my clutch set up,

2nd hand flywheel £40

Clutch kit £68.00

Bolt kit £15.00

Fitting was a 24 pack of beer

I was using a ABF flywheel (mk3 VW golf gti 16v) or you can use a g60 flywheel.

Clutch kit was from a VR6 golf.

Your car should have a solid flywheel rather than the DMF

Hope this helps

Forgot to say I got the replacement flywheel skimmed as it had been lying around for a while out off a car.
