Well hello there!

Featured Replies

Just thought I'd say "Hi everyone".

I went to test drive a Fabia vRS today and really enjoyed it. Felt very different to my usual driving position (currently have a BMW Z4 2.5i) but once I got accustomed to being slightly higher up that usual, I was in my stride!

Wasn't too sure what to expect of the interior before I arrived at the dealership. I'd only seen one or two on the roads, and not inside before. I have to say that I was VERY impressed with the quality of the materials for the price. I've had 2 BMW's (116i SE prior to the Z4) since March and neither are what I would have called very good quality. Had endless troubles with the 116i, and I've had to have parts replaced on the interior of the Z4 already. Both were 05 plates! BMW's customer service sucks too...

Anyway, I was all geared up to place an order for one today (in Black, with Cruise Control and Xenons) but the dealer wasn't able to provide a price on my trade-in :( He has to make a few calls to find out what he can give me for it, and as they were having a "cost value" day today, I won't hear anything till Monday.

Here's hoping I hear something soon because I'm very keen to get rid of the Z4 and start having some fun in a vRS!

welcome debug

Welcome indeed, I enjoyed my Fab vRS :)

Hello and welcome, sure you'll love the VRS in if you get it, it's an addictive little car

I had a Z3 2.8 before the vRS and have to say that the dealer bought that back from me as it was so troublesome! I think that BMW do make some of the most fantastic cars but this is the 3rd Skoda I have owned, and the 7th in our family and we have never had any trouble with any of them!

Stuff BM's. Overpriced, over complicated, overrated and (unfortunately everywhere) overhere.

Well, at the moment Skoda are having a laugh, and only offering me 22k for my Z4. Even though they dealer showed me that the list price on a 54 plate (mine's 05 plate) is 25k! Going to take it to a BM dealer at lunch time and see what they say :(

Shopping around is the key.

The difficult situation you are in is that you are asking a dealer to give you cash back - It goes against the grain :P

Try the Skoda website dealer list and have a ring round but I'm not surprised they are valuing it under book.

He suggested that they buy the Z4 then sell tickets to see it?!? Joker! :)

Anyway, job done... getting an 05 plate ex-demo Fabia vRS with under 3000 on the clock, and heated seats.

Saved yourself

So another happy skoda customer, hope your life with the little Furby vRS is better than the Z4 :)

Welcome :orb_wave:

Stu , I'm still being bent over backwards over the Z4, but the amount I'll save in fuel, servicing etc.. will more than make up for it, even in the short term!

Thanks Steve :)

I'm not surprised mate, dealers will take every opportunity to have yer trousers down and get it up ya. The mere sniff of it will have them foaming at the mouth. My brother is in the trade and some of the stories I hear will make your toes curl.

That seems to be a lot of peoples theory mate, me included. There are so many ex performance/prestiege car owners buying the se Skoda's for the value they represent and the Fabia is just that, fantastic value at a good price.

I really hope you enjoy the car mate and that we'll hear more from you on here.

Well... Picked her up today! :D Absolutely great little car. Love it! Felt a bit unusual at first being so high up compared to being "in" the Z4, but I'm getting used to it :) Still a ton of fun to drive.

Tried to replace my stereo this evening but gave up due to failing light. Think it's gonna have to be a glovebox removal job. Probably for the best anyway as I'll need to lead a sat nav aerial round the back of the dash. A task for the weekend me thinks!

Good, Good - Another one joins the fold.
