I despise dust!

Featured Replies

Cleaned my car at weekend and just gone out to it and its covered in dust. Car looks filthy again. Is there any thing to stop this or am I just dreaming.

Is it only dust? or is it more sand, dirt, pollen etc.

If it is only dust, you can give it a quick spray down with a quick detailer and voila you have a newly shiny car again.

I do not advise you do the above if it might be anything more than dust.

Anti static quick detailer :)

I think its possibly part sand as well as dust as im about a mile from beach and work closer. You can feel it if you get what I mean.

Also wondering if you can get brake pads that give less dust. I have white wheels that are only white for an hour after cleaning.

If even a possibility of sand then just forget it, unless you like swirls.  Only solution is a wash.  Sometimes you just have to accept that where you lives makes it harder to keep your car clean.  What protection is on the car, maybe a good sealant will stop the dust/sand from sticking so it's gone when you drive off?

Yellowstuff ceramic brakepads claim to give off less dust.  In practice I don't know if you would notice the diffence, brakes should work nice though!

Ok has anyone tried those pads on here??

And yeah I think just gonna have to grin and bare it. Stupid seaside! Going to see chrisrs soon for a polish so dont want to make it a harder job for him :)

I just use a wax. Dont really understand the more detailed side of detailing such as sealants. Even polishing confuses me :/ from what I know a sealant should be next purchase. For wheels and body.

Those Pads? Edit: sorry you mean Brake Pads, got worried you were cracking out the clay or something.  My bad.  Sharkrider has those on his car, my friend at work runs them.  Good pad by all accounts in the experiences of people who I know have used them.

Go see Chris, you will no doubt learn a lot about detailing and return a changed man and car!

Its about 100mile round trip for me. But its going to be worth it. sick of the swirling from the previous owner.

Yes, it will be well worth it. Chris has the same colour car as me and always make me envious when he posts pictures up.

:-) not actually seen one my colour in fresh form. Its meant to come up really nicely. Race blue fabia.

My friend had a SE Fabia in Race Blue, and looked very smart when detailed.

LOL....Guys

Dust...If its just dust, all I do is spray it with water and dry off with the Woolly Mammoth

OR apply Snow Foam and wash that off, then dry...Very quick

And if it's sand?

You can usually tell...but if unsure......Powerwash off and wash as normal

Cheers chris. Its is like very very fine sand. Same size as dust but feels like sand.

You are not the only one that wishes they lived near Chris I'm sure
