Squealing breaks?

Featured Replies

My breaks have begun making a ridiculous noise.

The squeal when moving and when breaking!

Time for new pads?

In a word, yes :)

If they're squeaking while moving, you might also have a stuck caliper, which is very common.

Ah i thought as much! Job for the weekend then!

Not necessarily.

Check the pads first. Some pads do squeel after a while... grinding means new pads but squeels sometime just happeb.

if your pad is ok for meat just take out, put a bit of a chamfer on leading amd trailing edge theen with a hack saw cut a groove deep in the middle of the meet

Absolutely not, red grease is red "rubber" grease, ie grease that will not swell up rubber, you need silicon grease on these sliders is at all.

i don't think so no. I'm pretty much a novice to breaks so gonna take them off today and have a look.

Got this problem with my vrs now. Was it just cheap pads? Calipers sticking? Calipers needing some copper slip?

Just did this a couple of days ago front drivers side squealing like mad one pad was jammed on a bit just a good clean up of discs and pads making sure the pads pretty much fall in copper slip on all contacts and in behind the caliper carrier rubber slide pins and the pads  once I did that runs a treat

Have a break, have a Kit-Kat

Because race car

Cheers Joe will give that a go!
