I'll be heading off up the M6 toll road next week but will first have to collect some people from Tamworth, just up the M42.

I'd like to go up the M40/M42 to Tamworth, back down the M42 for 10mins to join the M6 toll, then the M6 northbound.

Looking at the map it seems that you cant' join the M6 Toll northbound if you're coming down the M42 ??

Well, I know you can deffo join the M6 northbound or southbound from the M42 - I do so every time I visit the relations in Leics, and IIRC if you go on M6 Northbound for a bit from the M42 it becomes the M6 toll road. :confused: I seem to remember nearly getting on it when I actually wanted to stay on the regular M6 to meet up with someone.

Looks like your best bet is A5 west out of Tamworth and hook up north of the toll road.

If your at Tamworth there will be numerous opportunities to join the M6 toll, personally, I would take the A5 from Tamworth towards Lichfield and join at the big roundabout where the A38 meets up with the A5. As for cost, at peak time its
