Who is running coilovers on their Mk2 Fabia?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I am trying to get together as much info as possible on quality coilovers for the Mk2.

What are you running?

How long have you had them?

How do you find them?

What do you have them set to?

I may have an option on some H&R's or KW Variant 1's from a Mk5 Seat Ibiza, has anyone installed coilovers from one of the other cars on this platform? Audi, Polo, Seat Ibiza.  Was it successful?

All (Mk2 Specific) coilover information appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the contributions guys, has to be better than another oil thread, right?

Mark

Shouldn't you better off with the B8s given that you've invested on the H&R springs already? I mean unless the coilovers are at a really great price. I stumbled upon a Alfa forum earlier this morning and someone was replying to an Alfa GT coilovers  thread that B8s with lowered springs (Eibach in specific but pretty much relates) was a very very good alternative.

It's an option, but both KW V1's and H&R are reputable coilovers, the H&R have the same type of montube upside down dampers as the Bilsteins and I am quite sure they either use Koni or Bilstein tech.

If I put on Coilies then I would just offer up my less than 5k old H&R's for sale on here.

It's about what you want to achieve I guess. If track days were a primary concern then the KWs would be my choice as well. But given that I'm more after everyday practicality + the occasional spirited driving I can't see me profiting from them more than from a H&R+B8 combination, which although not exactly cheap, is still available for less money.

Curve ball for you sparkly.

I fitted GAZ GHA's to my Golf, they are adjustable damping, excellent on road behaviour and on track are also excellent, GAZ are a great company to deal with and are happy to repair or refurb single dampers should anything untoward happen.

Only around £550 too so not a massive outlay.

The ones I had seen on SCN are 29015-2's

Harrumph, don't think I will be able to go for them.
