Front ARB Bushs, Whos running what?

Featured Replies

When i put my coilovers on last year i decided to cut my front ARB off as i couldn't be bothered to drop the subframe. I thought i had a shorter pair of droplinks in my Toolbox but i must have thrown them out a while ago.

Anyway i'm putting a Front ARB back on with shorter droplinks and want to upgrade the bushs,

Whos running what?

Super pro, Powerflex?

I also welcome the criticism for not running an ARB  :hi:

Before I bought my whiteline FARB to match my rear I was running 19mm Superpro bushes hth.

I measured my standard front ARB to be 20 mm. I got an advisory about the bushes last MOT, so bought 20mm Powerflex ones.

I have powerflex'd it all :D

I have 19mm Polybush.

Got you the first time, Kenny :giggle:

My ARB bushes failed when I bought my Polo 9N (same chassis) which was 6 years old at the time, had it replaced under warranty for a slightly larger revised version and I haven't had any issues with it since. Though my car is now nearly 12 years old so I'm expecting something soon.

I have 19mm Polybush.

Those sweets look rather chewy.

The ARB doesn't really care what bushes you fit since it will work anyway, the bushes are simply there to prevent any noise or vibration being transmitted through the rest of the car, they don't do anything other than act as a self-lubricating pivot for the bar, it's a torsion bar remember, all it does is twist slightly.

Is it possible to change the bushes with the subframe still in situ or is it a case of removing it to change them over?

The bushes can be changed in place.

I put powerflex ones in when my OEM ones deteriorated.

Changed back to Oem at the first available opportunity does to horrific squeaking no matter how much lube you covered them in
