OK, so I disconnected my battery today whilst I fitted a new MAP sensor and now my MS 402 radio won't work at all. The only thing that works is the button illumination when the car's lights are on - it does not ask for a code and the display shows nothing at all.

 

I bought the radio off ebay several months ago and it's been fine up to this point. When I bought it, the seller said it did not need a code, and indeed it did work as soon as I fitted it to the car, it's only now I've disconnected the battery that it's not working.

 

Any ideas please?

Seems odd that a fuse would blow just from disconnecting the battery but I'll check them.

Been out and checked the fuse and it's fine.

 

Ack well, I don't use the radio much anyway. I prefer to listen to the ferocious growl of the MPI engine

OMG, I just went out for another play around with it and it's suddenly started working. It's even remembered the station presets even though the battery was off for several hours

Mine does that! Gotta leave it for a while but then it's as normal afterwards!
