Audi a3 seats in fabia vrs?

Featured Replies

Iv had enough of keep cleaning my fabia seats all the time as there a bugger to keep clean. A nice set of audi a3 8L 3 door leather seats have come up forsale iv heard the front isnt so bad to fit and the rear bases aint to bad either but its the rear back. How hard isit to modify them to fit in the rear of my fabia?? Help much appreciated

Probably go more or less straight in, from what has been reported. A bit of searching in here is probably best to reveal exact pictures and details. Have you not seen the seat mega thread ? There is someone with pics of A3 seats probably gone straight in.

Grizzatrading by any chance ;)

Look good + a good price..

joe's got leather A3s in his.. they arent a straight fit or a quick + easy job.. but they will go in

It depends on now clean you want the job done. For the rears to fit properly, it's lots of cutting and welding! It's certainly not an easy conversion.

Fronts ... Easy.

Gfwc could you send me other some more info please think iv spoke to you before on something similar. Would it best to cut and weld the rear back in then or better to take it all apart and swap it all around? Joe said rear bases fitted in no problem

Ye thats how i got my Alfa Romeo rears in.. used my fabia backs.. if u dont wana rip up your vrs seat backs just get a cheap pair of fabia/ polo/ ibiza backs :)

Yea could be a plan. Heard about the headrest holes not lining up whats best way go about this. I dont really wanna use my vrs front seat bases so may have get some cheap crappy donners

Ye there is the rear headrest problem :(.. i just hung the headrests in the foam.... then forgot about them lol.. you have just reminded me thats another thing iv got to sort out :(

Why did I think they went straight in ? I'm sure somebody said that.

Seen on a thread sum1 had the headrest holes on the frames moved and welded is that easier than having a upholster sew in a new bit of leather to where the existing headrest holes are? My dads a good welder if that makes any difference

They are in but I modified the car and the seats to get them in.

Also mine are 3 door a3 seats ;) pictures of what I done on my build thread.

Yeah be pretty easy if you've got a welder, much cheaper than getting the material cut/re-trimmed :)

I've put A1 Sport seats in mine, fronts go straight in,rear base fits straight in.

Rear backrest was pretty easy to modify, strip the material/foam off,cut the lower mounting points off the Fabia backrest frame and weld them onto the Audi backrest frame.

Then you just need to cut some small holes in material when you re-fit it for mounting points to go threw :)

Frame on right is Fabia, left is A1,shows the difference in height of lower mounting points on outer side of seats.

Inner mounting points, left one is Fabia, right is A1:
