Old & Bold!

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Just a brief introduction from me, I'm a 70 year "old fart" who still has the "boy racer" left in him from his youth, over the years I've owned many quick vehicles starting with a 1950's modified Mk1 Ford Zephyr through to a 3200 Maserarti but I've now seen the error of my ways & settled for the excellent Octavia 2lt TD auto L&K.

I served for 26 years in the RN/FAA & got to fly in a variety of both fixed wing & rotary aircraft, & I still occasionally have a fast blast in a T8B Hawker Hunter when I feel the real "need for speed".

Welcome to Briskoda. Your a lucky chap for getting a go in a Hawker Hunter. I have seen Miss Demeanour many times, my mother used to work at Hawkers in Kingston Surrey where the plain was made. So if you ever fancy giving someone a tour of the aircraft you fly send me a PM. Lol.

Hi and welcome aboard.

I knew the owner/pilot of Miss Demeanour quite well when we served together in the RN/FAA, he's an excellent display pilot who can still draw in the crowds, & the paint job on his Hunter is still an eye catching design, I dread to think of the costs involved in keeping it in airworthy/display condition & as a single seater there's no chance of any further income as either a trainer or thrill seekers day out.

I thought running my Maserarti 3200GT was costly enough, the mere thought of owning/running/storing a hunter is eye watering.
