Brake pad fitting

Featured Replies

Please see attached, covered approx 1k miles now in these new pads, noticed the pad still doesn't fit flush with the disc, is this normal?

Is there muxh play in the caliper sliders?

I would investigate the pads are exsact right size and sliers arnt seized or lots of play in them

Thats fine the pads are like that

You will see what happens in the bedding in process. It might take a while, but you will end up with all the pad in contact with the disc.

I did notice the disc is well scored, have you had a problem with the pads/discs or the pads stainless steel shims in the past ?

were the pads "chamfered" or flat on the face? From the pic it looks like they are meant to be flat? If they are flat then that isnt right.. strip it down CLEAN the carriers propperly + apply a small amount of grease to the edge of the pad where it slides + refit.

if they are chamfered (like genuine pads) then it is normal for them to look like that.. but its hard to tell from the angle of the pic

I asked this question when I fitted my 312's and was assured they are supposed to be like this. Have done few thousand miles since and they still look like they so I believe it's right.

Sorry guys I have no idea, the garage fitted them for me.

The brand is Jurid if that's of any use

Thanks for the help though :-)

They are probably chamfered than.. its only the dirt cheap wanger pads that arent as the non chamfered tent to squeel.

Check the other side.. if both are the same then they will be fine :)
