where would your money be?

Octy vrs VS glanza

Which do you lot think would be the quickest?

Standard octy- cai-225 45 17 tyres- slightly crazy driver

glanza- remapped @165bhp exhaust you could fit your head into- not so crazy driver.....

be interesting to read your thoughts on this as the lad is giving it large at me and a couple of other vrs owners...

I presume all this action will be taking place on a private road/ track/ airfield as willy-waving and talk of racing on public roads is heavily frowned upon on here ;)

Depends on the driver and many other things, not least of which is Bhp isn't as much a factor as power to weight ratios.

If it were to happen it would be on a disused airfield. Where would your money be????

Eh are you mad????

Standard Octy vRS @180Bhp weighing 1375Kg Vs a Glanza with 165Bhp weighing ~ 1000Kg. Er, I'd put a fiver on the Glanza.

Glanza off the lights easy.

Vrs would do it top end

As long as it's on the track or strip then Fun= both win. On the public highway however all lose.

How about rolling start say 20mph? I know the octy is slow of the mark but moving might be different

Still the glanza, quick little things especially mapped. Standard vrs are slow

It all depends on the driver.

Years ago I was challenged by a Fiat 131 2.0 twin cam which was quick in its day.

I was driving an old Vauxhall viva 1300.

Result was I toasted him which on paper should never have happened.

My money is on the Glanza.  Little nutty tin can things that weigh sweet F.A.  If it has 165bhp, that's probably 180 per ton.  The octy will probably be around 140 per ton.

Interesting thoughts. Ok ok what a stage 1 octy with around 220bhp?

more level pegging with the octy pulling away from around 100mph+ as aerodynamics come in to play.

That glanza has to be more than mapped.

A bone stock glanza with a map on it is not very fast at all.

Probably on par with a standard octy (which isn't very fast either) would be like watching a milkfloat traffic light grand prix

Hmmmm i know a few people with glanza's and while ive never had a traffic light gran prix with them, they are quick cars. However, they are proving to be very unreliable bags of sh1te.

Mate of mind had one, 200bhp and went like stink. Very plasticy and it felt like it was going to drop to bits at speed. Not a lot could catch it to 60 tho. Would have definitely wasted my old mk1 vrs.

Everything ive read about them is to 60 they are quick but run out of steam. I would rather be in my octy doin a ton then a glanza. They do seem to be very unreliable, after all they are only a nissan micra with a bodykit :). I think I could take it. After all my mate played with 1 in his fabia vrs stage 1 and he said if it wasnt for the road going from dual to single carriageway he would have been passed and the glanza couldnt pull away :)

Get on track and get it sorted, be prepared for disappointment tho ;)

I know the glanza will smoke me from start. But I dont think will be much in it. I dont mind losing after all its a much lighter car.

Glanza is a Toyota starlet underneath not a Nissan.
