Auto express complaint

Featured Replies

Some one has written in to AE complaining about build delays with vRS. SUK has replied that demand etc is delay and hatch has a 18 weeks lead time and the estate is 27weeks...omg...

Nice of them to tell us..

I think you need to check your spelling.

I think you need to see if auto express will be compliant about taking your complaint up with Skoda.

Oh dear !  The fact that the complainant could not work this out & had to be told does raise a few question about them !!!!!!!!.

I wonder if they have worked out that a red trafiic light = Stop :D

What spolling mistake

I guess this is free advertising for Skoda and may help their case? After all if the cars are in such high demand, many others may now order so they don't miss out on such a great car?

Investigative journalism at its very best from AE. I can see that no stone has been left unturned on that investigation. And I though BBC had the worst journalists in the world.

some 1 called Martin Hawthorne. Not sure if hes on here..im guessing not.

Saw this looming so asked steeler for cars in transit. Should arrive next week.

Cars are now made to order rather than stock being available.

Do you have a link?

Weird roundabout way to complain to SUK. Still be they're please with the free publicity that they're cars are that popular they can't make them fast enough. :)

No sorry just read it in mag ..page 111.

This is sort of delay is not new- Fl Octy vRS was exactly the same - I waited 6 months for mine.

It appears that there is the same issue for the Ctiygo

So whats new ?  - If people do not want to wait then there is a choice of several other manufacturers to choose from.

Absolutely! Well said..I believe the lead time on a qashqai is about 20 minutes.

Demand drives demand, and some people are more likely to order a car with a long waiting list because the demand helps justifies the purchase. The car would not feel so special if you could pick and model, spec and colour wanted and drive away tomorrow.

It also give people a chance to cancel their orders if they are not etirely sure they have made the right decision.

I feel a bit unworthy really. I went in after a low mileage Superb at the end of October and took delivery of a VRS estate on December 20th.  It was destined to be their demonstrator but I poached it. I'm so glad I didn't have the Superb and I'm really loving my first skoda except for the well dodgy cruise control which I really can't get on with... even on the odd occasion it decides to work I don't like that tiny rocker switch that I seem to knock every time I indicate   :wall:

And I though BBC had the worst journalists in the world.

At least they check their copy first.

I wonder when there will be an investigation into the 12 months minimum lead time for a Porsche Macan?
