Amundsen + Bluetooth phone pairing problem

Featured Replies

Hi firstly Im new here having just picked up my Superb last Friday. Overall I love the car, really pleased with it so far. Theres just a couple of things that I cant find the answer to.

Whilst still at the dealers we paired my samsung s2 with the car and it worked great. The car even found it automatically the next day. However, since then when I get in the car it automatically searches for my phone but says unable to connect even though the phone shows as being paired on the Amundsen screen and on my phone it shows as paired with Skoda BT. The only way I can get them to find each other is by deleting my phone off the Amundsen + and re-pairing them again.

Anybody, had this and/or know how to fix it.

Also, when listening to radio and have sat nav running, should the radio volume not turn down by itself when sat nav speaking?

Mine doesnt. Is there a fix for this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, when you experience connection problems, do you have any other device connected to the phone via Bluetooth like a headset? In that case you will get a failed connection.

I will see what I can find regarding the volume issue and actually test mine (I never use Satnav voice commands).

Have a nice day!

I think if you go to 'Setup' and then 'Tone' and then click on 'Navigation Volume' you should be able to adjust it there (should give you high. medium, low options).

No there is nothing else connected at all. It worked brilliantly for the first day but since then they just dont connect even if I manually try. The only way is by deleting phone from Amundsen screen and then re-pair them. Very annoying. Hope you can help.

Well, next question is if you have the opportunity to try another device to see if you get the same behaviour from that ... I have had an S2 connected for some time to mine without issues, as well as S3 Mini, Windows 8 phone and others and it just works. I have no other clue other than a trip to the dealer to ask them for help/service.

I will check the Satnav volume when I drive home today ...

Hi, I am so sorry but I did forget about the test I should perform, I was so stressed when leaving job a bit late this afternoon. Will do it tomorrow morning instead, okay ...?

Have a nice one!

Hi again!

My radio or media sound remain unchanged when the Satnav voice sounds, it is really hard to hear when radio/media is playing ... so there is probably nothing wrong with your head unit from that point of view ...

Hi, Have you checked the settings on your phone regarding Bluetooth and the trust element between it and the Head Unit. That is usually why phones connect on the first attempt then successively fail because the phone fails to trust the HU the next time. Sometimes the phone will prompt other times it won't.

Another thing I noticed when I upgraded the os on my S4 I had to re trust the connection.

Not sure if the S2 is the same but on the S4 you go settings and click on the Bluetooth option, that should give you a list of connections. One being Skoda_BT click on the settings and it should give you the option to trust the connection.

I think you have to do this when connected to the car.

Hope this helps?

Sorry for the delay in replying to your suggestions. Thanks very much for your help. I think/hope I have sorted phone problem, it was a problem with the actual phone. When I went into bluetooth settings for Skoda BT it was ticked for media pairing instead of phone and wouldnt let me untick media option and tick phone instead. So turned phone off and on, after which it would let me tick phone option. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
