Central Convenience Unit or Drivers Door Control?

Featured Replies

Hi all.  I have a strange locking/unlocking problem with my VRS and was wondering if from my description of the problem anyone could tell me which part was at fault.

I was driving along the other day and the rear drivers side passenger door unlocked and locked itself a few times.  Since then only the drivers door will unlock on a double press of the key fob (I do hear the other locks click but they do not open).  If I press the button inside the drivers door they all unlock, and if I turn the key twice in the door they also all unlock.

Because they unlock using the key and button in the door I am assuming the unit inside the drivers door is ok, and that it is the central convenience unit.

Any ideas would be great, thanks.

The problem is the lock module in the door. You must re-do all the soldering ,is known problem

Thanks a lot, I will give that a go first then.

hi mate in regards to youre problem as above I have had all these symptoms and more when I first bought mine. all the problems were from the multiplug in the drivers door that plugs into the black box attached to the window motor the wiring rots here and generally when you pull the plug out half the pins come out the black box with it. I went for new short door section of loom and second hand module problem solved. although be warned the black boxes although all look the same and plug in as per norm. have many different part numbers and different configs so match yours before buying. hope this helps.
