Cambelt change and Haldex oil service (intervals and cost)

Featured Replies

Thanks for that info.

Having just had a slight "accident" with the caravan, that now needs a new window, I think I will be leaving mine for another year.

^ Bad luck, Graham.  Glass, or frame as well  ?

Complete plastic double glazed unit!

Plus a dent in the side of the van.

Currently trying to find a second-hand window, otherwise it will be an insurance job.

Complete plastic double glazed unit!....

Of course - I was speaking generalities :S .  You might be lucky with a salvaged unit, as these units are common to several makes and models (as you know!).  Pity about the dent, though; the skin's not so easy to deal with.

[sorry, this is way off cambelts and Haldex oil.]

As my 170 is due its 2nd service and I had been told last time that the cambelt was due at 4 years I looked for cambelt related threads on here to check before I rang my dealer and found this. Very useful info gents, thanks.

My dealer is obviously on the ball though as they confirmed the belt was not now due until 5 years for cars first registered after 2010 (mine is Feb 2011).

I didn't know about the Haldex oil change so that was a good heads up. So it's service, Haldex oil and brake fluid change, while I wait, this Wednesday. Cheers!

Glad the dealer / Skoda GB do talk. Still like to know why German cars can go for 6 years though
