Remote control

Featured Replies

Has anybody had any problems with the remote control door release on a Yeti. Yeti two years old and the remote control has been reset but still plays up.

In my 4 years here I don't think I've ever heard of a problem with the alarm remote, not even a flat battery in one!

Generally faults are due to a flat battery or getting them wet!

EDIT.

It might be useful to know exactly what the problems are.

The exact problem is the remote control for the doors not the alarm.

Exacto!

The "blip" controls both. It turns the alarm ON and activates the central locking mechanisms.

As I asked, can you please explain the EXACT problem, as currently you have told us nothing?

So................. What is the exact problem???

It doesn't work. I've tried resetting it and the garage reset it and it worked briefly and then failed. It just doesn't work.

I presume you mean that it doesn't unlock the doors? All doors? One particular door?

Does the other fob work normally?

Have you checked the battery is OK?

And to be honest, if your car is only 2 years old then it is still covered by the warranty and therefore the dealer should be solving this, and not you. if they are not doing so then request them to involve Skoda Technical to sort it out.

Recently my wife's Citigo had an occasional 'sticking' whilst locking and unlocking of the door mechanism.

The same problem manifested itself with both the remote and key.

Sinclair Skoda at Swansea immediately identified that it needed a new 'barrel'.

Ordered and one week later fitted.

Problem solved.

It's all the doors and the warranty has expired.

It's all the doors and the warranty has expired.

Going on the little information supplied, I presume you have a UK bought car? If so then your car has a 3 year warranty,

So to reiterate my previous questions:

Does the other fob work normally?

Have you checked the battery is OK?

The three warranty has just expired neither fob works and the battery is fine.

I'm getting a very out of tune feeling about this thread.

Perhaps the good Captain could explain this apparent confusion here?

Hope not he lives near me

We shall see, Kevin.

I've given up.

You may have been better seeking advice on an Audi forum judging by your signature.

I don't think it's the out of tune one, perhaps the captain is a crossword compiler, with all the cryptic clues.

Well it would certainly be easier getting blood out of a stone, with the lack of info we are getting.

A hint to posters.

If you want to get an answer to a problem then give us ALL the details. Things like:

how old the car is

exactly what is wrong

what is or isn't happening

if engine based, what engine it is

as much details as possible

I've asked the Mods to investigate.

come on folks, this is no way to treat new comers to this site, this witch hunt crusade needs to stop really, if any posts or users are troublesome then please report it to the moderating team, but please dont take it upon yourselves to pick holes in somebodies credibility, i think its a perfectly reasonable assumption to make that the vehicle warranty has expired in the interim period after it was reset.

has anybody got any valuable suggestions to make as to a resolution to this remote control fault? i dont know enough about them personally to make any contribution

Tom,

Look at the number of sensible questions I and others have asked the OP but never got a straight answer to.

He says he has a 2 year old car, but then says the warranty has run out.

He had to be asked several times what exactly is happening but gives no details, other than it doesn't work.

How can we help with so few facts?

We need more details, especially as this seems to be a very uncommon (unique) problem with the Yeti.

If we get some answers then perhaps we can do something.

Perhaps it isn't surprising some of us are suspicious.
