Either way the topmount will only be fixed once the top cup thing is on.....

Appears to be the last pic from googling, gonna do it and see what happens.

Well its on, seems ok. Not quite got the cables tucked back on properly though.

 

Now for the last one. 

Did get the tool for the top strut nut and hoe did u get on with it

Yeah I used a swann neck spanner and an Allen key, was reasonably easy.

defo 2nd pic. In fact should not of used that nut but the proper VW/Skoda bearing nut. I guess it don't matter if you have the poly bush top mounts as you state they are only held onto strut when installed on car and top cap / nut is fitted
