Age 4+ Car seat compatible with Octavia MK3? preferably isofix

Featured Replies

Looking for a car seat to suit my daughter (and son in the future) to cover from age 4 onwards.

We have a maxi cosi Rodi isofux seat for the wife's car but when I trialled it in the vrs demo I borrowed yesterday the plastic inserts on the rear bench prevented the base from ratcheting back tightly in to place so I'm guessing its not compatible.

Can anyone recommend a good seat that does fit, isofix preferably.

Recaro monza nova 2 with seat fix :)

At 4+ isn't it just a booster that's required ?

Yes only a regular booster is required But I prefer the safety afforded by a high back seat, with isofix.

Thanks, I'll take a look. Guessing you have this in your 03?

Plus one for the recaro.

Just don't get the red hoping it matches the vrs stitching, it looks almost pink!

We have the Ferofix (the RodiFix before it changed it's name). It's fine.

Remember it's the seatbelt on these type of seats that holds the wee one in, the ISOfix only stops it moving around. Also, if you shove it really hard you can get it rock solid if you want.

Really? The base was touching up against the plastic inserts and wouldn't allow me to push it in, it felt very loose on the mountings, though I appreciate your point about the belt.

Call me controversial but I've ordered silver stitching!

I bought one but still waiting to collect the car and test it. Should be fine.

The 05/13 model is supported and it's a standard in any case even if they hadn't got round to updating their documentation. I guess it's cheaper for them to do that one a year.

I have two maxi cosi rodifix all black group 2/3 car seats that I bought specifically for the octavia 3, the isofix fits fine in the back and isofix mounts can be folded out of way to allow for seats without isofix. To note please be careful with the back part of car seat as this can interfere with head rests which can prevent car seat from fitting correctly. I used mothercare for trial and error initially then found a better price online for seats which is where purchased from.

@ Pumatron, i'm confused as in sure it wouldn't fit but I'll take your word for it. Have you removed your headrest? I certainly recall lifting it to provide clearance but I didn't take it right out (as I have too in my current car).

I'll not rush out to buy another seat just yet then, need to try and fit the maxi cosi again.

I do have to have the head rests in raised position, but have no issues with any part of seat touching the plastic guide/surround? The yellow brackets slide out back if seat, click into fittings on car and I push car seat back to seat of car until resistance is felt. I do have a material seat protector over seat as well but that doesn't make a by real difference. Just to note mine is an elegance and not a VRS etc.

Yip fits a treat :) really good seat!

Available with or without seatfix

I've got a red Kidfix and I think/hope it'll look pretty good with the red stitching.

Klippan Triofix is good, takes them from Group 1 to when out of a seat.

Has Isofix for up to 18kgs, can be made to rear face on the Isofix too.

Pricey though, was 400 notes when we bought ours about 3 years ago.

The sides of the high back get thrown around by the rear side airbags I got with the crew protection option, having seen some of the side impact film, I prefer the air bags to hard plastic and polystyrene.

Our Maxi Cosi Pearl for our 13 month old, clicks in to place and shows 'green' but i wouldn't call it anything like tight up against the rear of the seat - i just can't push it in any further?
