if changing interior light bulbs and tail light to led type for a brighter/whiter light, do they have to be a certain type ie canbus or not ?

 

does not matter tbh but for the difference in cost id go for canbus led`s

interior lights aren't monitored by the CanBus system AFAIK.

I don't think so, no.

Number plate lights are monitored. But everything can be disabled VERY easily via VCDs.

i replaced mine with led lamps in the First few days of ownership and no error on the display

Funny, mine came with a bulb out after changing to LED. Removed the check box in VCDs to check the plate lights and now everything is OK.
