Range Rover Sport

Featured Replies

In our group we have a Range Rover franchise. My boss popped in today in a Sport with the TD6 2.7 V6 diesel (190 bhp/324 lbft). What a motor, and so quiet for a diesel and looked the absolute nadgers, nice drive aswell.

I want one!

put ur pickup on top of the rangy (will keep tha rain away too;))

seen a few around oxford, nice motor's :)

The fuel consumption is staggering though...

I love the Sport it looks really good!

But I have a soft spot of Landies and Rangies

Saw a sport at hospital this afternoon... very very nice and it was in black

i sold some rather crappy spy shots of that to autocar.when it was being tested near me.

can you get us a discount Lummox? BG anyone ;-) want one

Its a really nice motor. It would be even nicer if they did a pick up truck version.

saw a silver one yesterday morning. must admit they are very imposing. i would have thought you could get fairly resonable returns from the TD unit. its the super charged V8 that would worry me on the MPG...

something else i saw the other day too, a W10 TDI Toureg with really nice alloys and low profile tyres, they looked like an option, that was really s****y.

that last word wasnt swearing either...

I've always thought Range Rover models such as Sport and Vogue to be a bit silly. I appreciate that they are very nice to look at etc etc etc however do you really need 19/20" Alloys, body kit and metallic paint to "rove the range" ?

How many Range Rover owners actually go off road and use the full potential of their vehicle? The most offroad action I ever see a Range Rover do in a city environment is driving up the kerb to push past you at a junction or roundabout, the same goes for X5/X3 owners although I have to say that generally VW Touareg owners seem to be of the more sensible variety.

Range Rover "Vogue"

i can see the hand movements now....

sing along with me

"vogue... let your body move to music... hey hey hey..."

I think Range Rover should be above this blingin.

Still....far better than X3

I agree but it comes down to the finances at the end of the day though. When they look at the numbers of X models BMW are shifting, and Porsche with the bloody Cayenne. Based on their pedigree I don't think Porsche should have built that either. But when the numbers add up, I guess they go ahead. Word was that sales of the Cayenne paid for the Cayman R&D work, so I suppose some good has come of it.

Looks a lot cooler than another pickup I saw on here!

Very nice motor indeed. Read about it in landrover's quarterly mag which I still get even though I got rid of my freelander nearly a year ago. Cracking 10 cylinder diesel engine. Like something out of a train!

You wouldn't pass many petrol stations though!

Went to an offroading day a year or two back and was stunned to see someone turn up in their shiny 3 day old Rangie to put it through its paces! Did very well over most of the rough stuff, although the paint was less shiny and a bit scratched after that day ;)

The TD engine is reasonably economical - combined mpg is 27mpg! ;) V8 and supercharged V8 weigh in at 18mpg and 17mpg combined, which isn't that bad considering the 2.5 tonne kerbweight and the performance!

Chris

My boss is considering this car, can't make his mind up between the Diesel or the Petrol, I keep telling him the petrol :D

But the MPG is next to nothing, and doesn't help when you do 30K miles a year...

The Range Rover Sport is on my Lottery Wish List Cars, either in the Burnt Orange colour in the pic or Black. Seen quite a few and think they look like the dogs back wheels.

The Photoshopped pick up would sell bucket loads in the US.

  • 5 months later...

A vehicle fit for a King.....

.....of the gypsies.Ditch the track suit look.
