Wonder Wheels is nasty acidic stuff, but probably just the ticket for jobs like this!  Just try not to make a habit of it.

Also watch it on the painted calipers, it does make them go dull.

ive got the disks and pads ready to fit, its just as and when my mechanic can fit it in. is it that big of a job to fit myself?

So you are happy to drive a potential death trap.

 

I would suggest you find another mechanic who can fit you in ASAP.

 

Or do them yourself.

It's not a potential death trap as all brakes still work fine, just annoying having the grinding noise. Is the wonder wheels hot wheels any good?

Looking further at this pic, the rear disc looks like its had better days, are these basically metal on metal now?

He told me pads were shot but to replace disks too for piece of mind. The caliper was sticking, but he's managed to save the caliper
