The past few days, when driving off in the morning I noticed it got pretty chilly pretty quick inside the car. I usually have the aircon temperature set at 23 Celsius and the past few days, it defaults to 18 which is around 64F. I live in a warm humid climate so use air-conditioning all the time.  Any suggestions why mine is resetting to a lower temperature? 

Are you using the 'Auto' function?  Obviously this system will increase and decrease the temperature (versus what you have selected on the dial) in order to maintain a constant temperature.  Not sure if that's your problem though?  Any issues with the sensors maybe?

 

I find the whole climate control system very cumbersome and after having it on a few Skodas I still haven't got to grips with it properly.  I am constantly battling to keep the windows clear despite selecting the recommended settings in the manual, which drives me (and passengers) mad!

My take on it is this ... If you have your temp set to 23 but the outside temp is say 27, the air con on auto, will cool the car as quickly as possible to reach your pre-set temp then adjust itself as necessary to maintain it.

1. I don't use the auto function as it generally sounds like a cyclone is about to hit the car

I know its not the world's greatest problem but interesting how the electronics of the Superb fiddle with you.  I've had the issue of the front passenger seat reclining itself overnight (has not happened for years) as well as the passenger side mirror dipping on reverse sometimes.  I think it means Skoda want to reminds us occasionally that THEY are still in charge of the car!!

 

It is however the best car I've ever owned (and I have had a few) and also the longest I've kept a car.  Just over 70000kms and the only things I can complain about are piddling!!
