That first mod feeling

Featured Replies

So my bargain TT strut brace has arrived, and is first performance mod I have got! Looking forward to getting it fitted and seeing what it does. Obviously a rarb would the first to do, but £24 is better than £170 at the moment. I feel more money being spent will what happens next. Also....best way to paint the strut brace? Going for a green theme under the bonnet me thinks.

Hate to be negative - but imho fitting the strut brace without uprating the RARB first might make the car a bit twitchy

aaaaah it'll be reet! I'll be getting a rarb when I have the cash...so soon hopefully.

TBF the strut brace don't make much difference unless your driving really hard. Does look cool though especially in green I reckon it'll look really good.

I wouldn't say I drive that hard, unless I'm on my own and on local roads. But every little helps, and for £16 plus postage, it will do something! Yeah I like silver and green, and from I can gather, a lot of people on here go for red or blue or black so  hopefully not too common! Should go well with green pipes and a green cotton filter when I can afford. But it will be a rarb for the first 'big' purchase.

I only have the tt brace atm I did notice a slight difference and for that little it's worth it

Where did you get it for that money?

It doesn't matter if it's not the best first mod, it's just great to have a mod done and out of the way. With each one it gets easier.

The one lesson I keep on not learning is to buy the proper tools before doing a job. I always think "I have this that will do x job" when in reality I should spend the £10-20 and buy the proper tool. :(

Yeah the right tools help, and I'm sure my collection will start to increase! Daveharr23 i got it off ebay, was on a buy it now or best offer and I went in low and got it. Happy! Yeah I'm not bothered which mods should be done first, or what everyone else did or does, I just enjoy my car and it will end up the way I want it, and that will be decided on budget at the time too. As long as you enjoy your car, and enjoy making it yours, thats cool with me!

Awesomesauce buddy!

If you need any tools you know where i am!

(Usually under or in my engine bay atm)

You've got to start somewhere - trouble is it takes over like a disease!

;-)

I've got a silver car too, planning on adding some green pipework to be a bit more unusual.

We've made a good choice!

Good choice of colour dude.

I would go green too with a green rocker cover, but to replace all my blue silicon hoses would be a large cost..
