Ownership Comments...

Getting better with more miles, still in love with the colour and the Golus wheels which have been cleaned religiously every week so still showroom fresh, suspension softening up nicely, a few early bird trim rattles but now sorted between the dealer plus a few diy fixes along the way. I still miss the bomb proof build quality and door cards of the Superb but love all the latest MQB infotainment that I would have missed out on if had gone with FL Berb. With all these delivery delays, already thinking about getting my order in for a Superb III but might have to be a vRS next time, with the TSI220 lump as my mid life crisis is brewing!

1.6 TDI DSG Elegance Combi

Registered 13/06/13

16,000 miles

MPG 52

Good:

DSG - smooth, no jerkiness, easy driving.

Engine - thought it might be underpowered but decent performance and the DSG helps.

Space - lots of room front, back and boot.

Seats - comfortable and wearing well so far.

Build quality - nothings gone wrong or fallen off.

Variable floor - useful to partition boot and for easy loading.

Light assist - works well and reacts quickly.

Not so good:

MPG - expected a bit better.

Quality of door bins, seat base and glovebox plastics - easily scuffed.

Ride - rough on poor road surfaces.

Still absolutely love the car and enjoy driving it. Love the canton system (used regularly lol) and have also used the sat nav and like having auto Bluetooth phone connection. Have also found the phone booster works well (living near France is a pain to get uk networks at times and this def makes a marked difference). Great car for motorway cruising on cruise control but also fab for putting your foot down and enjoying a bit of 'go'

Yours must have been one of the first registered in the country, in readiness for test drives on launch weekend 13/14 April.

Yep, hence why I'm having so many software updates done at the moment!!

The Columbus software version was originally 0101!

Registered 14/2/14 approx mileage 2250 miles

As a quick, comfortable, relaxing and cheap to run means of transport its excellent.

Part of me does regret not holding out a while for a vRS TSi as the Elegance is not alot of fun to punt around; but at the moment I wouldnt want to wait 7 months for one and given Im about to have to undertake a nearly 600 mile round trip from Sussex to Preston twice a month the mileage is going to be really clocking....it may even have to go in place of a company car.

It looks like it is me then...... 22,500 registered June 13.

moved over from a 2.0 L&K DSG estate MKII and now driving a 1.6 DSG as I love the box and haven't found any other make outside the VAG group who do such a good box.

The only real issues have been a prolem with a valve which was stuck (?) that had the car off the road for a few days and there was a problem with the sat nav which just needed resetting by the dealer.

Would have loved some extras but ordered the car as unallocated stock as I wanted it quickly.

the first 1000 miles or so I regretted going for the 1.6 but over time I have got used to it, and think it is powerful enough for what I need (as you can see mileage is high)

my biggest gripe is the stop / start. with the DSG box. It is the biggest pain in the bum, and if I could keep it switched OFF all the time, and just decide when I want it on, that would be better.

I spend so much time stopping the car and then 2-3 seconds later having to start it again purely because my foot goes a little too hard onto the break.

Did you ever get your B Pillar/window seal problem sorted?

Did you ever get your B Pillar/window seal problem sorted?

Yes matey. The dealership sent pictures away to Skoda, who then authorised them to fit new seals and all is well. 2 other blokes in my company who got their cars around the same time ( all fleet cars ) also had gaps but as the cars are leased weren't bothered. I just thought it looks naff and will be a wind trap.

39.9 mpg !!!! You gotta love the autobahns. Imagine if it was petrol- ouch !!!!.

Nothing gone wrong with it yet (touch wood). Topped the coolant up today along with the oil. Loving it.

Order my new VRS at the end of this month with plenty of options hoping to see it in January, is that too optimistic?.
