You may have answered your own question. From your description it just sounds like a resistor in a box.

Bad, very bad, All it does is trick your ECU to pump more fuel into engine.

 

Get a proper ECU remap Shark/Revo etc.

Avoid like the plague unless you want to stare at an orange engine light and later require a new engine.
