  • Been told the car will be ready for collection on the 22nd. It's been at Dagenham for a week. Have lodged a complaint with Ford. Also thinking of checking paint thicknesses upon collection.

  • Paint thickness gauge purchased!

  • Rather than phone calls etc I just went down there for a chat.  Probably easiest.   Short version is a few "sweetners" and I can get my car tomorrow, it's arrived today at the dealership. Just got

It gets better.

Ford due to be ready mid next week... But a two/three week delay on Mountune kit.

Sure its not a Ford Fiesta "Citigo" Special edition? :D

They do take the pee dont they (n)

I'd tell them to pop it up their pooper to be honest. Abysmal service.

Have you been given a firm date yet Richard?

Maybe tomorrow and then take the car back in a few weeks for the Mountune kit.

To be honest I've lost interest.

Shame really as the service is letting down a good car.

They have none of my money (finance contribution deposit gave an extra £500 saving) and I have the V5 and tax disc...

So what do they have to do for the mountune kit? Air filter and remap?

Edit: Damn auto correct!

'Mounting kit' :D

Autocorrect by any chance? ;) - yes, filter and map.

My Dad had this with his one & only new car purchase (Vauxhall) they told him it had arrived in the country and just needed to be transported to the dealer..... 2 weeks later, it was 'on the boat coming over', ..........roughly 10 days later he was the proud owner of a car that had been registered for 3 weeks, had greasy fingerprints, crisps etc all over the interior, a dent in the rear valence and lumps of  orange paint on the door edges as if they'd been opened onto another car. My suspicion was that the mechanics had been using it as a runaround/lunchtime pub car & as such ,I told him to refuse it. Sadly, he didn't want the stress, so meekly accepted it  & constantly moaned about the experience for years! :wall:

If it was me Richard, I'd refuse to accept it & consider ordering another from elsewhere. Fully agree with the 'keeping it local' sentiment but it seems they don't have much respect/courtesy for a local customer? :wonder:

Its a whole new replacement aluminium airbox with an additional cold air feed, K&N panel filter and remap. :)

Unless it's pristine and comes with a complete 3 years of warranty from date of collection I won't be taking it.

And is this possibly another dealer that Fox Travel won't be buying the next 20 minibuses from?

They don't do commercials, it's a little local dealer Ken.

Or did I miss some sarcasm as that's not the name of my company and I've never ordered 20 minibuses?

Are we to presume they stood by their delivery date then <cough>?

Apparently not...

I don't know how big or otherwise Home Counties car dealerships are or aren't. So shoot me!! ;)

Seriously, I wouldn't be buying from them again from what you've said. The use of "Fox Travel" was a placeholder since I either don't know or can't remember your company name.

To be honest I'm getting to the stage where I never want to buy any Ford ever again Ken.

All I seem to get is messed about when buying and then stuffed if you used them for servicing and aftersales.

Been there, wrote the book! Be prepared for the second chapter - 'Problems at service time' and Chapter Three - 'incompitant warranty repair'. The dealers are the letdown of the Ford brand - brilliant products, awful support - a real shame you are experiencing an issue so early on though. :(

Ford Customer Relations have started coming out with "assumed it'd be registered early as you got a discount" and varous other daft statements from the dealer.

Like that justifies registering a car to a customer that's not even in the UK yet... meaning they lose out on warranty cover.

I can see this is going to get interesting.

Damn auto correct :D

;) - had forgotten about the different airbox and cold air feed as well actually, that Lee reminded me of

Decent setup; if Richard's car ever actually appears of course :|

So if you haven't exchanged any money can you cancel the order?

Leave it a couple of weeks and buy it as a pre- registered for extra discount?

  • Author

It's already pre-registed.... to me!

Hmm that won't quite work then doh
