Thinking about the SatNav unit in particular. Any advice about what i should do in terms of updating it etc.?

Enjoy the car first you can't beat the new car smell . I had to wait for Pid unit to be delivered then I got used to the unit before updating.

Only 20 minutes to go.

same here, had to go back to dealers a few days later to collect PID. Enjoy it anyway !!

No rush, but make sure you register the fresh maps to your PID before it expires

 

You only have 30 days from activating the PID for the first time to claim it

Loving it! Can't believe how much more refined it is than my Aygo - much quieter and appears to accelerate better, though I haven't really tested that as I'm going easy for a while. It's going to be a chore hiding the PID unit away every time I park up though :(

 

I spent half an hour popping all the new bulbs in - looking forward to the dark so I can see how they look.

Taking the PID off becomes second nature after a while. I've made up a chamois leather pouch for mine.
