Has Tiny/Time surfaced again??

Featured Replies

Reading this months issue of Computer Shopper there is an abundace of adverts very, very similar to those used by the now bankrupt tiny computer company.

There are 2 URLs -

www.tinyprices.co.uk and www.pcfactoryshop.com both of which point to a subdomain of Savastore (Watford Electronics)

The webs don't look like those of Tiny so I don't know if they are just trying to jump on the bandwagon.

There are no contact details on the webs and a very iffy sounding line in the 'info' section -

Tinyprices is powered by Savastore.com, our partner in this revolutionary new business model.

The sales office in the magazine is Sherwood Road, Aston Fields Ind Est, Bromsgrove.

What do you reckon?

Watford, sometimes referred to as Watfraud, I believe. Avoid.

Just a very familier looking add that alerted me.

IIRC Tiny went t*ts up and was bought out from the receivers and now trades as TINY.COM

...still wouldn't touch 'em with a 10ft pole though.

You might find Time/Tiny offloaded a bunch of stock on the cheap to another company shortly before going insolvent...

Rob.

Granville Tech are up north, not Watford. So it could be just a designer has jumped ship and taken his ideas with him about how a page should look.

One trick that I've seen done in the past is a change of company name 24 hours before going into administration. It then leaves the original name, or variation thereof, free for a new company to use.

Does look very similar - too similar to be a pure coincidence to my mind.

Tiny and Time rebranded (went bust?) as The Computer Center or The Computer Shop, and they do have a yellow and red logo with black writing, which would suit the colour of the ad.

See above Richard

They werent in Bromsgrove, they were in Burnley. When the whole incident with Tiny going into 'administration', they still operated from Salfords for quite a while.

Thats whats making me think its not them and merely a designer. Anyone able to find out who is running both Granville and Savastore.com, I mean directors wise. That would pretty much be the only way to know for sure.
