retro fitting paddles

Featured Replies

So my 58 dsg octavia didn't have any as standard. I've looked up on Google etc but all I can find is people saying to change the whole wheel. This I understand as you need the paddle mounts but surely there's more involved than just fitting the wheel?

I went from a bog standard non-MFSW in my 58 plate vRS to a full MF paddle Golf GTi wheel, but I also needed an upgraded steering wheel controller, slip ring and wiring loom

Might be worth sending a PM to Eddie_NL to check exactly what it would take

Cheers buddy I'll fire one over

Is there a Skoda wheel that would fit a pre-FL car that has the paddles?

Phil

Yeah I have seem Brimma's wheel but wanted a Skoda one for the green button lighting and OEM look.

Will hunt for Wardy's car for more details.

You can fit a facelift wheel Octavia wheel and the paddles will work fine (although the buttons on the right side won't work)

probably a Fabia Vrs wheel is best

Haha. Yeah found his for sale thread.

If he's managed to have a FL MFSW fitted then hopefully it's possible to have one with paddles also fitted.

You can, just remember the buttons on the right hand side of the wheel only work properly with a facelift maxidot.

So a fabia Vrs wheel is a better option

Why didn't I think about a Fabia vRS wheel!?

That's great guys.

Thanks for the help.

I also assume a new airbag slip ring and steering controller is required...

Would all the buttons on this wheel work then:

Read my posts

You need the airbag and loom (CH controller)

buttons on the left will work fine

buttons on the right only the Ok function will work (push the roller in)

Only option to get all buttons working on right side is to fit a FL maxidot
