Do you have climate control?

Yes mate

Its probably part of the HVAC system running checks on the air before it enters the cabin. Had the same thing with my 406 coupe

It's the thing on the left probably,  between the three things,  can't remember without looking,  has  something to do with emission circulation and carbon I think. Can't remember what it is off the top of my head and I know my description is rubbish,  but it's supposed to do it anyway.  Sometimes it is silent,  sometimes not

There,  searched for ticking noise on left and got this....

The ticking sounds like the evap system - it's normal for it to tick apparently though I've never heard mine. Black box between the coolant ball and the washer reservoir (assuming same position as 1.8t).

It recycles fumes from the petrol tank and feeds them back into the intake.

Is that what you mean

Charcoal Cannister

Mine ticks too always wondered how to stop it. Varies in speed but only notice it when cars been for a run n sat idling afterwards.

If it ain't ticking it's not working properly lol

I have no idea why it ticks either. Mine does it, believe you can remove it if it bothers you.
