Earlies, Lates and Nights for me on the railway. More money on nights and time off after these shifts. Been doing for nearly 9 years now and they dont become any easier!

I do Earlies / Middles and Lates, no nights.  Early starts at 05:30 and Lates finnish 00:25.

Only 9 years, I'm a 32 year man

I used to work nights, not and glad I don't anymore. My body clock could never really adjust, and I struggled to get to sleep during the day and always ended getting up after 3-4 hours sleep.

I too am a shift worker. x2 12hr days / x2 12hr nights then 4 off, although in reality its only 3 1/4 off with recovery time. I cycle the 34mile round trip through the edge of the Peak District into Sheffield on my day shifts, leave home at 5am, arrive home around 20:30.

Sleeping during the day in nearly impossible due to SWMBO running a childminding business from home so I have to grab cat naps when I can.  If I've barely had any sleep by the 2nd night I'll cycle to work as I find the fresh air & endorphines from cycling keep me going, it does make for a very tough 34mile round trip though!
