Finally got a armrest

Featured Replies

Hi I finally got round to fixing an armster 2 armrest after having 'Castro'six months and I wished I had done it sooner here are the photos2a9a2e9y.jpgadu9a5ym.jpg5ubenygy.jpg

It was easy to fit, probably not as sturdy as the factory one but a lot cheaper in price not quality.

It does not go completely vertical and i find it doesn't get in the way of the handbrake as much as the one in my Fabia did.i think i will do the Drls and headlights next and possibly side protectors and mud flaps but not too sure on those yet.

Never go the other way... the superb is a greater car :) My back will testify, dam these potholes. Get out into the lanes and the citigo is a lot of fun, so yes, it's great.

I've been thinking about an armrest/cubby place for a bit now... knowing this fits well enough might just be sufficient. I assume you got direct from armster web?

Hi colin yes it was www. Armster.co.uk ,but I ordered over the phone because the weren't Showing stock for Citigo's yet they had stock for vw up so I had one of them .Just fitted mitec drl's and night breakers got mudflaps and rubbing strips and wheel arch liners on order so I've been bitten by the modding bug lol.

I'm not going to be fitting the liners myself as I had operation on my knee last year so all that kneeling would probably start whole thing off again ,and worse still cause me bodge the car up shock horror ! ,so my mate is going to do it for me in his garage . He reckoned on an hour each side but when I showed him Owens tech sheet said about an hour to fit them.

His normal supplier is taking ages to get the bits so now going to order from skoda .

I have fitted mitec drl's and night breakers what a difference,

I have got fogs ,indicators, number plate led, interior led all in post. I was going to change the light unit for one with map lights but didn't fancy putting old unit in to a new car but that's just me.I'm going to be busy at the weekend . :)

I have to say I thought the arm rester looked really good when you showed me yesterday :)

  • Author

yes it looks good and does not get the way of the handbrake  bit awkward getting seat belt in at first, but i love it the oem part i think would be more sturdy but thats costs more.

How come your gearstick is so short?

  • Author

I going to be careful in my response to your question about my gear stick in Citigo is so short .lol and say I think it's the angle the photo is taken from that's all :-)

Have you found a source of side protectors? My wife has just ordered a SEATMii and from expereince with supermarket car parks I think I'll buy her a set if I can find any.

Fred

How's the arch liners?

Did it all go well?

The side protecters are skoda ones from tps (VAG)and didn't get there in time so they are being fitted on Tuesday along with rear mudflaps which we were wondering wether to change our minds about as you have to drill the bumper in four places with skoda ones and thought they could cause problems but they appear to have changed the design .

The new skoda mudflaps only look like they are approx 2 inch lower than bumper.

Stormchaser the wheel arch liners are in place but missing the extra brackets that you need to fit them. They will be there Tuesday so they is some noise when going over bumps at present . But they have loose chipped the road need us so they have cut down on some of the noise, but had no rain yet to tell on that score.it took him one and a half hour to wheel arches and front flaps but that's the boss fitting them not the mechanics,my mate said they were easy to fit.
On the whole very pleased with the look of them and when other brackets fitted there will be no flexing or flapping at front of the arch. Then I will be well pleased. Hope this helps .

I will Post later in the week to update you.
;)

Well I got the final adapter plates to fit arches to front of wheel arch fitted ,a lot better now no flexing of flapping around so I'm we'll pleased.didn't fit rear mud flaps did not want to drill bumper, but I had fronts done, and side protecters fitted they look good IMHO .just looking forward to some heavy rain to see if the wheel arch liners keep the noise down . :-)
