Bluetooth problems

Featured Replies

Hi sorry if this topic has already been covered before........I have noticed recently that the Bluetooth has become very crackly. It is happening during phone calls and streaming of music. It is happening intermittently but appears to be getting worse. I was using an iPhone 4S and originally thought it was my phone. I recently changed (still an iphone) to a new phone and the problem persists. I was just wondering has anyone else experience this problem. I just have the standard bolero unit. Thanks in advance :)

I have an iPhone 4S and the same headunit (in a VRS TDI Estate) and it's nice and clear on bluetooth, no problems with crackling.

I've noticed that if my phone goes into power saving while listening to music over bluebook the sound begins to skip and crackle. I'm using a Samsung s4 with bolero head unit.

What head unit- Bolero, Amundsen or Columbus?

My Columbus was crackly, but from day one, and only with certain phones. iPhones were the only ones that were reliably not crackly. A software update fixed it for the Nokia and HTC phones.

Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling

Oh that's weird, was sure I read "Bolero" in your original post. In that case mine's a different headunit!

Streaming (and I really mean streaming, as in no music sitting on my phone) seems to work ok for me (Amundsen & Note 3).

At first I thought it was flaky but that may have been related to the phone being in the back, in my jacket. With the phone in the little cubby hole in the centre console it works perfectly fine - I don't get a full track listing but I do get artist/track info of the track playing and play/pause/forward/back all work fine.
