Condensation in tail lights

Featured Replies

I know this is common on many cars and on some it comes and goes in different conditions due to poor seals etc.

Do any Fabia owners have permanent condensation is the indicator (clear) area of their tail lights? Is this 'normal' or something that Skoda should rectify?

Thanks

Mine is the same just where the angle is  (tailgate side) only on drivers side. And both front fogs

First time I hear about condensation in tail lights. Tail lights are very easy to remove - unscrew the big plastic screw inside the boot behind the tail light and then simply wiggle and pull the tail light.

Check the indicator's rubber seal and plug. Do the same for the rest too.

I got condensation in the right tail light. But i noticed very tiny crack (first thought that is by design).

Water collects in the inner corners (the pointy bit!) but doesn't seem to affect their operation.

Iv got abit of condensation in one of mine too.

Would it justify a warranty claim do we think?

It functions perfectly, but isnt supposed to function as a fish tank i dont suppose

Thanks for all the replies.

I will bring it up next time I go in to the dealers and see what they think.

Many cars seem to have the same problem but those that I've had previously it has been an intermitant issue i.e. It would come and go depending on the weather.

Let us know how you get on :).

I had this in mine too. I took the cluster off and let it dry out on a nice day. I couldn't see anything wrong with the seals. Will be interesting to see how you get on with this as a warranty claim, as I am debating about an extension to my warranty again.

It comes and goes i wouldnt worry about it as long as they work.

Years ago I used to drill a 3mm hole in the bottom of the light units as Volvo suffered from this too.

I think it was back in the '80s.

If your still under warranty,... its a Fault.
