In the market

Featured Replies

No way!! Joe I'm gutted.... I take great pleasure seeing your car every day on the way home! It's an absolute stunner!! If I had the cash I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Notice you were being followed b a red Ferrari on the way home today... to be honest I still preferred your motor! But I'm not a "modern" ferrari man.

I did not notice that haha, was it on the m4?

Totally legitimate and logical reason, but I guarantee you when you're sat on the couch in your new house, you'll wish you never sold your fab lol

Well what ever I sell it for half will be going in the house fund and half on something abit older for a cheap project. As long as I got something to tinker with I don't really care what it is.

Ummm unsure now! I love the yellow but I also like the blue of the se! Decisions decisions. What's the benefits of an se over a yellow one?

- If you want limited blue, a bit more of a purists car.

(whilst the standard car is more of a modders car, and I think this is really what the model is recognised for). It is part of the last models made so I guess you feel you are buying into something special.

- All SE's have leather seats, whilst vRS will only have leather if someone has fitted in (many have, in some cases easily arguably better e.g. seat surgeons). I'm personally well happy with Recaros and how they match my colour.

- Its slightly higher HP than the ASZ engines as standard, but not the more recent standard vRS models (BLT) as its the same engine.

- If you want to pay 1.5 to 2 times as much for practically the same car would be my main answer to that - the SE is a more complete as standard limited edition package and having paid more for it may be worth more later too ?

Certainly isn't not going to appreciate any time soon though or really seen as a proper "Classic" and actually appreciate - unless you are garaging it for 20 years and not using it !

For all the private high priced hopers and high priced dealer SE's I'd walk from all of them. That kind of money for me would be better saved towards something "newer" or arguably more valuable/special (e.g. XKR/XF). My money would be on the new Kia GT4!!

I actually like the SE's but I'm rational about it and wouldn't cut my right arm off to have one, in fact I'd probably go for something new having owned one now for 7 years from new and had a standard 1.4MPi from new before that.

Other than that I believe the differences are minor compared to a standard BLT. I think maybe it came with that maxidot as standard?

Which would be useful if you were looking for purist/OEM satnav but for me it would be third party/up to the minute over that anyday

For me the differences aren't enough to make the SE a no brainer purchase, but it depends on your own priorities on buying - no one can make your mind up for you

No maxi dot - that was an option on standard cars only.

The vRS SE came ready built as is - no options allowed.

Wish it came with xenons, would have completed the package.

Very happy with mine, had it almost 3 months now - had an Ibiza fr with the same engine (albeit asz) and an 06 vRS in black and I must say I agree with the modding comment of non SE cars.

I plan to lower mine a tad and fit 312 brakes, that's about it.

Engines good mate. It's got a slight oil leak. It's just a 1.9 but you can put a 1.9tdi in it from a golf. I brought it as a project but never got round to finishing it. Brought a house etc

Well if you fancy it I'm sure we can come to a deal with that ;)

Ah mate don't tempt me I love your car. I'm not sure if I would want to sell it to you as it needs quite a bit of work as it's been neglected whilst I buy my house. If I sold it down my way I would ask for about £1000 but if you would want it I would let you have it for £500
