Retrofit LED Footwell Lights?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a UK O3 Elegance and for some reason it didn't come with footwell lighting - this makes no sense to me given it's the top spec (in terms of gizmos etc not engine clearly) and the price paid for it but hey-ho.

Is there any way of retrofitting these into at least the front footwells and maybe the rear as well?

The easier the better obviously! I already have LED bulbs that came in a pack for the rest of the interior LED conversion but just need the holders and cable I assume? Will these then need to be programmed using VCDS?

Thanks,

John

Yep no UK O3 comes with footwell lighting, not even an option.

IMHO not really that bigger a deal as the interior courtesy lights are pretty good but definitely a spec oversight.

Whats actually more daft is that a car like this doesnt come with illuminated vanity mirrors...not that Id use them but they come standard fit on a VW Polo do why not a Mk7 Golf relation.

Also unlike the vRS, the Elegance doesnt get ambient door handle lighting which seems strange given it has been up to now the comfort/luxury oriented model.

Sorry, the L&K, available to order since the 28th April, comes with front and rear footwell lighting as standard.

Sure fair shout, shame you'd need to spend 27-28k on one to get them though

Not much more than an Elegance with a few options like Xenons and Canton added really. Given that adaptive cruise, front assist, lane assist, park assist, canton, sunset glass, xenons, led tail lights are all standard spec the L&K is a fair bit cheaper than when you could add all of these as options to an Elegance.

Base spec of the Elegance is so much better than that of the Mk2 I think it suffices for most; certainly does for me.

I think 27/28k car spend would send me toward a completely different bracket of vehicle. We're all different though.
