I keep hearing this intermittent Hi pitched noise coming from the centre console area, it sounds very similar to the sound you get when you call a fax machine. This happens even when the key isn't in the ignition. Any ideas what might be causing it? It's really annoying me now.

Does it sound internal or do you think it could be coming from outside? When you say the key isn't in the ignition does that mean it happens when you sitting in the car with the engine off?

all of the above, but I've sussed it, it was my new Anker usb charger. Gonna contact them for a replacement.

Remember someone else mentioning that a USB charger was causing interference.

 

I have a Griffin dual one - this doesn't cause interference.
