  • I wouldn't want that option doing tbh   I love it when the xenons fire up in the dark, looks so classy   And before anyone starts saying about bulb life reducing, I have mine set to 30 secs which

  • I'd recommend reading the manual, and afterwards try to find a Briskoda member with VCDS or Vagcom near to you.   Lots of options can be selected, some of them no dealer will touch. No harm can be d

A good dealer will sit you in the car and get you to deal with options in the Maxidot and satnav/radio/CD depending what you have so that you see how it works. One thing you might appreciate is to hav

I checked with my dealer if they would activate closing of the back door by using the button inside.

They would not do so because the it does not have sensors to detects if it hits something.

No chance they will do that. Liability requires the operator to stand next to the tailgate when it closes (so it only works with the button on the tailgate)

VCDS can add the same functionality to the keyfob and the gearstick button.

Not so sure about standing beside it when it closes, my friends BMW tailgate opens and closes until the fob is out of range.

The downside to this is sometimes we're in the office and if something in his pocket presses the button while its in his pocket the tailgate opens and you aren't aware until you either go home or someone mentions there's a car outside with the back open - a good enough reason to be beside the car alone.

The tailgate of Superbs can also be opened with the FOB.

BTW: Mercedes also open/close from inside, nut sure about FOB.

Brake Assist: When drivers perform an emergency stop they often do not press hard enough on the brake pedal to reach maximum stopping potential (i.e. just on the border of activating anti-lock braking).  Other drivers will panic when the brake pedal starts to vibrate (when ABS activates) and then release brake pressure.  Brake assist detects an emergency braking situation (by things like how quickly/suddenly the brake pedal is pressed) and applies a full braking pressure even if the driver has not pressed hard enough to do this.  It deactivates if the driver releases most of the brake pedal pressure.

I played with it on a defensive driving course and it definitely activates.

Hi

can you advise what the code is for activating the brake assist.

Thanks

I've heard that on the FL diesel model the cruise display (set speed etc) can be added to the maxidot where the mileage display is, does anyone know what you need to set and where to find it. My car is in for a service tomorrow and ideally I'd like to get the dealer to activate it if possible, although they didn't seem sure about it when I spoke to them over the phone.

I've had this feature on my last three Passats and miss it.
